Upcoming iOS version coming within the week. This game will be driven by what the users want. All criticism is accepted in order to make the game better.
No offence but I cant be the only person who made a big Sigh when they readed slender.
Come on , just be creative there are enough monsters we can create with our minds.
Other then that the game looks fine.
I just dont like all this slender mess.
I am not going to defend my creativity, if you are referring to the name “Slender Run” then it is not derived from Temple Run nor is its main purpose was slender man. It was originally a first person runner, I just took todays fad and put it in the game. You must understand there is a difference between what we perceive as creative and there is what the general public wants.
Ironically you can’t derive my creative process from the title of one game, I don’t have the time to release my current project which explores the purpose of psychological inertia for my honors thesis. Nor can I release the other undisclosed game I have been working for over a year. In reality the opinions of this forum do not concern me, neither the opinions of the public. I will make what I want and people don’t like it then so be it, I am not after acceptance whether it is good or not, if you don’t like it then don’t play it, don’t comment on it just pass it off.
That’s one of the few things I disagree with. If you don’t want people to comment on it because they dislike than get away from the entertainment industry in general. People will comment what they want when they want and if you don’t like, don’t post publicly.
I’m going to post what else I disagree with now that I think about it.
But the fact of the matter is you described the game with, and I quote, “Outrun the grasp of Slender Man while he chases you through a desolate forest. Duck, jump and dodge obstacles in order to out run the Slender Man. How long can you out run the Slender Man?” If you don’t want people to talk about the Slender Man reference than don’t put Slender Man in game or the description.
True, but it’s your job as the developer to professionally asses how marketable a product is, especially after it’s been on the market after a while or if you are basing it off of something else. All in all, there’s only so much the public can take.
But when all we have to go by is one game than we are going to make our decision from that one game.
Our opinions should matter considering we’re potential customers. If you show an attitude towards a potential customer they will remember that and you and you could lose not only that customer, but many others as well considering that customer won’t recommend anyone to your product.
Fair enough, but what if you are in a situation where you are working for a company and they decide to put you on a project that you don’t like? Will you just not work on it?
I hate to be the one to say this, but try not to wipe your but all over our remarks please. It shows poor manners and attitude, among other things.
I guess I agree with you there. But the point I am trying to make is I was making this game, there isn’t anything like it on the market place that I am aware of. A first person runner where you are being pursued by a monster and you make to make your way through a forest or through an apartment complex (as in future development) and dodge all incoming obstacles, if you hit them your speed is reduced. I just took something people can relate to and placed it in the game. Prior to that it was the demon god of Nordic mythology.
Everyone is so quick to jump to a conclusion that it is the same as slender man because his names in it, its the same as temple run because its running. The main emphasis on the game was the purpose of first person running. Today we take anything that we as humans can relate to, put it in a game and call in blasphemic, not creative and for the purpose of “gold digging”. If anything it denotes to a marketing strategy and my current financial situation warrants it so to be judgmental and cynical is to deny us our very roots as humans but accepting destroys us. That is why I don’t care, if it doesn’t sell then yes my life will be harder, I took a stab in the dark by making a game around Slender man that I started quite a while ago but haven’t had time to do because of university makes me look like I am taking the fad. Everyone’s perceived "I started it now that its popular notion is the typical response I anticipated.

I think you misunderstand the point the I am trying to make. I do on a level respect the truth and I do as well warrant an understanding. But the points you make are not in correlation with what I am saying. I of course expect the forum to be biased because if I saw this game now I would say " Oh god these people are riding this fad for all it’s worth ". So on a level I understand your point. Although the point is still missed and that is why I don’t appease to need for acceptance from this forum because as developers we see this as trash and disgusting and there will always be that level of biased response.
I will take all criticism and try to apply it. Although there is no criticism for the game but only towards the fact slender man was in it. If I took slender man out and put the greed god back in will the game be new and innovative?
