Sliced image type

Hi everyone,

I am just getting started with the new UI system and just cannot figure out how to use the Sliced image type for simple images. Whenever I select Sliced I get the warning “This image doesn’t have a border.”, but I have no clue how to set up a border.

I am using the following image:

Is there some import setting I have missed so far or do I have to do some other setup to make the image type work? I hope someone can help me out.

Cheers,

I just realized this as I posted the question… thank you LuxUnity for pointing it out as well!

it still doesn’t work for me

Click on “Sprite Editor” in inspector properties of sprite.
Create the border - L,R,T,B values > 0

it still says no border. can you send me a screenshot of you doing it?

Hope it helps !!!

I did this but now it just puts it in between the beginning and the end of the fill

I had similar problem. My 9 slice image wasn’t scaling properly although I dragged the green border correct and I set the image to sliced. The problem was the “Pixel Per Unit” image graphic setting. It was 1, but It should have been 100. Not sure why, but changing it to 100 make it work.

I had the scaling problem as well. Mine was 100 already though, but way too upscaled, so the value I found to match the normal size best was the insane number of 11500. I hope this won’t screw up the performance. I don’t understand how it can be so difficult to make a sliced image :S
Thanks for the tip anyway!

My magic number was 2. I don’t get it.

Hi, how can I get borders because this shows up “This image doesn’t have a border.” and I can’t find the sprite editor. Is it because i use my own texture?

in texture import setting change texture type to sprite then sprite editor will be there

thanks for sharing guys, i was stuck at the same place.
