SM2 and SpriteUI

I did a bit of research on a dynamic GUI interface that would meet my requirements and decided that SpriteUI looked promising and that it relies on Spritemanager to work.

The forums have been pretty quiet on whether it will work with SM2 so I decided to buy SM2 and give it a go.

Unfortunately it doesn’t and it doesn’t look like something that I can diagnose.

I am posting here because I am interested in the EZY GUI that has been mentioned somewhere. Any idea how that is going and when it may be released?

EZ GUI should be done very soon. I’m working quite hard at finishing it up. I’m hoping somewhere around the next week or two. Also, check your PM inbox.

Actually if it is within 2 weeks I will definitely hold off on developing my GUI system any further until i can see what you have to offer.

I too am interested in it as well, can you give any details as to what features you pan on having? I’m kind of struggling with my GUI at the moment and I’m deciding whether I should just wait as wel.

At the moment, it features the following control types:

  • Standard buttons (with normal, over, and clicked states)
  • Toggle buttons (can be used for checkboxes, but also support an arbitrary number of toggleable states)
  • Radio buttons (mutually exclusive option buttons)
  • Slider
  • Progress bar
  • Scrollable list (mutually exclusive buttons)

Each of these can be setup and positioned visually without any code. The only code involved is if you want to do any extra special animation to the button, or to respond to input. Of course, you can do more with code if you wish, but the required amount is the absolute minimum necessary.

There will also be control management features, such as “pages” which are collections of controls that are assumed to be the only ones on-screen at a time, allowing you to easily bring in and dismiss entire menus, making creating menu pages extremely easy, and easy to transition between them.

This is great and something I was hoping would be supported.

Color me excited.

Sounds interesting.

Brady, your webpage is down or I can’t acces from Shanghai?

page works for me without a problem

oh… well, I tell you, in China you page is banned.
I can’t access.

But I can open cached page from google, and that sounds a bit weird. I have to say that many links I followed from your signatures, guys, are not working from here.
Ask Mao :?

Dreamora, this gayasoft.blogspot blog is not working, the rest of your links work. But well, you may already know that China have Blogspot banned.

all my blogs are on blogger / blogspot actually (gayasoft as well as unityversum)

Thanks for letting me know. I’ve had a couple of other reports of that as well. I might have to look for another webhost.
