Snapping scrubber to clips

Im trying to find a pretty standard feature present in most animation software, where the scrubber, and dragged clips would “snap” to the end of other clips.
Is there a way to enable this behavior?

Btw what is 4021651--347890--upload_2018-12-20_20-46-55.png ?

This basically

Dragged clips will snap to the end of other clips, but the playhead does not snap to anything (other than frames) in Timeline.

Jog lets you control playback speed with mouse movement.

Thank you, can you please add playhead snapping when ctrl is held?

Bumping to request this much needed feature. See Adobe After Effects where you can hold down shift to snap the playhead to the edges of clips and to animation keyframes. This makes it much easier to precisely time keyframes to clip transitions or to other keyframes. Currently you have to copy and paste the time values if you want things to line up perfectly, which is very tedious.

Is this still not available? Why Unity, why?

I’ve used 3ds max, blender, and after effects for animation.
Snapping playhead to elements in the timeline is useful in many situations.

Is there any way other than snapping to go to the exact beginning / end of a clip?

Such a basic and fundamental feature.
I’ve submitted it as a feature idea here make sure you do the same :sunglasses:

Technically you can.
Double click a clip in the timeline to open it in the animation window, then click on “Go to next\previous keyframe” to reach the ends of the clip.

I don’t know since then, but this has been a feature for the editor for a while (which I guess is what most people are asking for here)

Preferences > Playback Locked to Frame

HOWEVER this does not lock the playback to frame steps during playmode / in build to these frames (hence editor settings) which is want I was looking for.

Thank you RoyBarina!! Better than nothing.
