To be honest, I like the idea and how you started it.

The way you promote it here is pathetic though.

“Amazing high resolution Graphics” - The graphics are not amazing, and textures aren’t high resolution.
“Beautiful designed Levels” - Your levels aren’t beautiful. This is beautiful:
This is beautiful, too (+ realizable)

It’s not about having Crysis-like graphics but about an art style. Your assets seem to be pretty standard and quickly put together.

“the most beautiful and most dangerous mountains in the virtual world” - this is just a big lie.

So don’t get me wrong, I like the approach and that you’ve managed to make it playable. I just wish you’d polish it, give it a special look and don’t promote it like that. I’m happy if someone just gives me 5 cent. But if he told me before I’d get a Dollar, I’m disappointed.

So keep up the (for a WIP good work) and improve it! I like the idea and it would be a shame to be released in such a premature stage.

edit addendum: In general, I’d suggest lowering the shadow strength (regarding the day level) and put lots of work into the snow. It permanently takes up ~50% of the Screen, so if you can do some good shaderwork it’ll be super worthwhile. Start at least with some kind of specular map so the snow “glitters”. Probably also good looking would be some kind of Radiosity (so the snow under a flag is slightly blueish). Good Luck!

an has rightly pointed out about the graphics of the game, which are not so bad, but you can make this game stand out with more work.

Try adding some more variation, right now the snow looks pretty much flat and uniformly grey as if no texture has been added to the terrain at all, the glitter as an suggested will give a really good look. Replace the snowman model and perhaps have animations for it.

The track looks really empty right now, like from 0:33 to 0:36 in the video, so it can be surrounded by some mountains with rocky texture, make some changes to the tree textures and add some snow in them. You can also add some fog - and…snow flakes !

Make high mountains in the skybox, so that the environment looks complete. You can focus some attention to the textures too. You seem to be using the Pro license, so try out of image effects, add more sense of speed.

Keep this project in works for a while now, it just needs some more time and you could make it much better.

Dear an, dear vatsalAtFEI

Thank you very much for the reply so far! I definitely don’t get you wrong. The opposite is the case! I’m 99% thankful for you honest and constructive criticism. The 1% which isn’t thankful for your opinion is only my proud… And this I have to ignore…

I’ll try to think about implement your an vatsalAtFEI’s suggestions and try to implement these suggestions into my game!

And sorry for being “pathetic” in my project description… I guess you’re right at this point too! I think I have seen too much Keynotes…

Thanks again so far for these honest and constructive criticism… And I’ll be happy to get more input.

Cheers,
EdLan
