So does 2020.2 have a new HDRP pipeline?

So now 2020.2 is out does it have a new non-beta version of HDRP v10 also out at same time?
How does all this package vs editor release versioning work, is HDRP always out of beta when editor out of beta?!

You can see that current 10.x packages don’t have preview suffix to them, I’d consider that a release. Also 10.2.2 is marked as verified for 2020.2 I think.

Hi, 10.2.2 is the HDRP package coming with the official 2020.2 release. When starting a new project (with HDRP template) this is the version you will have. And unlike for 2019.3 with 7.x, this time future package 10.x update will contain bugfix only.

OK thanks - though maybe HDRP should be versioned along with the Unity version if that is generally how things will go going forward and there is always a new HDRP with each tech release. HDRP v10.x is kind of odd - it could be HDRP 2020.2!

This is exactly what will happen for 2021 version.

This is great. But could you make that migration of projects between HDRP versions is easy to do.

Opening 2019.4 HDRP 7 project in 2020.2 would result Unity can not recognize HDRP asset, impossible to add new HDRP rendering pipeline asset, and impossible to recognize old packages.

How is it going? Any update on this?

I want to upgrade from 2019.3 to 2020.2 soon. I haven’t noticed any problems when upgrading from HDRP 5 to HDRP 7 (2019.1 to 2019.3).

Here we go again. I just got the latest 2020.2.6 and there is no HDRP 10.2.2 anymore. Instead, there is HDRP 10.3.1, my assets are broken and I don’t have any idea if it’s broken because of the HDRP update (as usual) or it’s something else. And I don’t see any options to install 10.2.2. instead :frowning:
