So many platforms, so many games

I guess it is a good kind of problem to have, but I’m having difficulty choosing for which platform should I develop games. In the beginning I was only interested about PC (Windows), then about PC MAC. Then the IOS Appstore thing started and then android etc. Now I hear Ouya is coming and maybe Windows phones are in the future. I feel torn between different alternatives.

Money is not the main focus for me (though it does’t hurt), but the main thing is I would prefer if I could publish my games without a major publisher and still have at least some visibility. I don’t intend to spend a lot of money advertising, but I do hope that someone just browsing different games could at least stumble upon it, with greater probability than a winning in the lottery.

Right now I’m starting to look back to PC and it’s various appstore things. Or maybe Ouya.

PC/Web is an extremely broad market to develop for, and you’re not limited by the processing power of mobile devices, different device specs etc.

There are tons of PC game and PC web game portals you can submit your game to. Focus on getting this down first, then move onto Android/iOS if you want.
