so my dream goal is- become a games designer for a big company, make alot of money and then buy a beach home in malibu for about 600k. so ive read that to do that i should; start in a small company to get used to working with a team, desing the game ect. then make a portfolio wich is like a presentation thing for the company that will hire me. Heres the problem/question- i want to work for a big company like bethesd for lifetime job but i live in scotland not the usa, so how would i get money to move to america and work? would i have to work with the small company until i get enough money to move into a place near the big company?
Is this serious? Wrong section too. ^^

And to be honest if you’re planning on becoming a games designer to make the money then there’s a lot of FAR better paying jobs out there.
without a job in the USA you got from outside and the company getting you over you will not even move to the USA at all.
and I doubt its serious.
huh? will i ever make that money? i want to work for a company in the usa so your saying i cant? and no i dont really care about the money i only want to know if ill have a big house somwhere nice when im older
So to become rich you… should work in another industry.
Because, for the most part, this industry is about working long hours for peanuts… (and the joy of seeing your ideas come alive)
But hey, the top of big companies are rolling in it. Lucky buggers.
Sad, but so true!
which i want to do. so where would i live when i retire
In an old person’s home.
Woah, Is this kid for real. The Troll inside me is burning.
Listen. Go look around and educate yourself, Maybe you will have an epiphany or something to sort your self out
Because If this is serious It sounds like you have no idea about the industry or anything to do with life for that matter.

Sometimes all you have moral victories but they dont pay the rent.
Uhh, this is actually quite worrying…
You’re fifteen and you’re concerned about where you’ll live when you’re older? Hell, is that even important?
Do stuff that you find fun, get enough money to eat food and buy things you want. Life doesn’t need to be so planned and thought out because in the end you’ll just be disappointed if things don’t go your way.
If you enjoy making games, make games. If you’re bored of this forum, go out and walk a dog or something.
