So I’ve been using iPhone OS 3.0 since the day it was officially released, and on my perfectly standard, un-jailbroken iPhone 3G, I’ve got to say, it’s not as good as v2.2.1
Has anyone else noticed that the thing seems to just leak memory for no reason? And don’t think I’m getting mixed up that it’s my code draining the ram - pretty much when I get up in the morning and go to check a few of my fave sites on my iPhone, the thing is running like a dog (or a Nokia! :p), so I use the (brilliant) memory checking app I’ve got only to find that while it’s been sitting with the screen turned off overnight, it’s managed to get down to circa 2MB of free memory…
That’s not good. It pretty much means that for ANY app to run properly, you’re going to either need to own (and understand) one of these memory freeing apps, or turn off and re-start your iPhone whenever you want to play…
Also - apps don’t seem to disappear from the process list very fast either. On a few occasions I’ve had to check the memory only to find that an app I was using hours before is still stuck in memory - and this isn’t the same app all the time…
Very shoddy. V3.1, please!! ![]()
