So I am using the softocclusion leaves to get some denser and fuller looking grass and I found that it works very well.
At least up until unity decided that all my billboards should be a solid color.
As soon as anything is billboarded it becomes 100% solid fog color.
In the picture, my fog is set to full white and all the billboards glow like this.
How do I fix this? Thank you for taking the time.
Cheers.
I should add that this happened once I turned on distance fog in the first place, and now it stays on no matter what I do. It has contaminated the entire project and I really can not get past this.
Anyone please help me with this. I am so completely stuck.
Does anyone know why the fog color affects the billboard at all?
Is it related to the same thing that happens with the treecreator shaders when it bakes the info into the textures?
At least over there it can be worked around by disabling the fog when making the trees optimized shader.
I solved this, I just thought I’d post here in case anyone has the same issue. It was a third party shader that I had installed, but I wasn’t using. It still decided to override everything, and since it wasn’t controlled properly it bugged out.
The shader was the advanced foliage shader. Advanced Foliage Shader v.4 | VFX Shaders | Unity Asset Store
When I deleted the advanced foliage shader package it just instantly popped back to normal, so it is fair to assume that it is what caused the issue.
