Solutions for Web (Unity WebGL)?

Good day,

First off, I noticed that built-in integration of the accessibility namespace will start in the 2023.2 beta. Congratulations on achieving this milestone.

Although I looked at the official roadmap, I am wondering if the web platform is going to be supported sooner rather than later?

My understanding is that only iOS and Android are officially supported at this point - unless I am mistaken (didn’t see anything in the documentation).

And integration comes later, what are the proposed solutions for Web accessibility via Unity at this moment?

Thank you.

Hi KamilCSPS, thanks for the request – you are right that at this point iOS and Android are supported. While we don’t have details on when web will support will be implemented, it’s on our radar! If you have any specifics of what you would like to see in terms of web support, please share and I’ll be sure to include it in our planning.

As we are obliged to follow strict accessibility guidelines (Standard on Web Accessibility- Canada.ca) for our web products (ex Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign). I would say going as far as possible to support the web equivalents.

Right now, we use a non-Unity web layer (the top left menu) and responsive design (mobile version when resized, etc) to make it happen but obviously having it built-in Unity for any immersive product would go a long way to enable accessibility for more interactive projects,

Thank you for the feedback, KamilCSPS. This is very helpful in developing our roadmap!
