It seems every subsequent release/patch of unity gets a little bit worse with respect to what happens when you start up unity.
I just downloaded unity 5.1.2 and installed it. When I start up unity I get a completely blank window.
The log file has:

Im running windows 8.1. No antivirus or firewall.
So what could the issue be?
