[SOLVED]Edge Breaks/Blender

I am new to Unity and really appreciate the thoroughness of the environment; my apologies if the question I have here has been addressed but:

I am having trouble getting my polymesh objects (specifically a blender generated picket fence) to have “Hard” edge breaks. It seems like the edges are all rounded and artificially smoothed by the renderer. What do you have to do (in blender, and in general - I also use Cinema 4D / Mac) to get hard polygon edges?

The “Edge Split” modifier will solve this problem for you, in Blender.
