Hey everyone, I’m having an issue when install unity. After downloading the installer many many times, downloading previous versions of the installer, downloading it from other browsers, restarting my modem, and restarting my PC, I’m still getting the same problem over and over again. When I try to install Unity, every section it goes through, Unity → Documentation → Android Build Support → etc., after each of these is done downloading it turns out that they are corrupted. Is there a reason that this is happening? I’ve installed Unity before a while back. Any advice would be appreciated, thank you in advance.
Can you download other software (Spotify, Chrome, Skype) without corruption?
A long time ago (early Windows 7 days) I had an issue where anything I downloaded was corrupted. Reinstalling Windows fixed the issue.
First, let me say thanks for the reply. Yeah, I was able to download and install Mozilla Firefox, and Unreal Engine 4. I also tried disabling Avast, and Windows Defender and downloading it again, but still nothing.
Still can’t seem to figure this out :/. I’d really love to be able to use Unity.
Strange that no one from UT came around… maybe go to the Archive (Download Archive), select 5.5, Windows > Unity Editor 64 bit and try that?
Alright, I fixed my problem by using a thumbdrive to download and transport unity on. I found out that most programs I tried to install didn’t work, it just happened that the 2 I tested it with worked. I tried Avast, Battle.net, Origin, etc. and they all come up with NSIS errors or they just don’t work. For anyone else with this kind of problem, I’m using this to fix it: Why do I get NSIS Error? - NSIS
