Some of the coolest WebGL demos I have seen so far

These webGL demos are simply far too cool for you to ignore. They require no plugin whatsoever, they run native to the browser. Should technically run on mobile as well. I think Unity is up to par, if not much better in performance…(these demos seem to run around 14fps on my system). Only issue is that stinking webplayer plugin Unity requires.

Someone posted a WebGL port of the Cube 2 engine on a thread somewhere. You should have seen that thing - you’d have thought it was a native app! Next generation of games will be HTML5 and WebGL, lemme tell you.

Yep, it was a big part of Firefox 15: Mozilla and Games: Pushing the Limits of What's Possible - Mozilla Hacks - the Web developer blog

The BananaBread demo’s pretty nifty in FF15 - but as they say, no WebGL support in IE.

But you’ll still have Canvas/SVG games in HTML5 running in IE - there are folks even working on conversions for them to be Metro apps.

Yeah MS seems to have no interest supporting it.

They at least started supporting canvas a couple versions ago.

EA even has had HTML5 games out for years now, Lord of Ultima for example, but not with webGL.

There’s a guy on the net doing procedurally generated work in webGL but his examples are too slow for games and not supported by IE.

The example in this thread and the other thread are amazing, it’s come a long way over the last year alone.

What does Silverlight use? Is MS not supporting webGL because it competes with MS tech or they just don’t like to change for anyone? I know the excuse with html5 was that it hadn’t been standardized. Which was a valid excuse for a while.
