Hi everyone. I just stumbled upon Unity3d a few weeks ago, after hearing about a version coming to Windows. Im learning some basic javascript at my school and cant wait to start putting some of the 3d models I make in Maya into games. Heres some pictures of one of my ideas for a basic FPS game.
A model of Barrett M468
Heres a different perspective of the level.
Very nice screen shots, look forward to seeing what else you model. The gun is very well done. Look forward to seeing it textured.
Interesting gun model, did you manage to use one object or did you use a bit of booleans?
很普通的模型和截图… :x
are those from maya or unity? because if they are in maya you should be able to get the same result more or less. good job, I also can’t see what else ou come up with.
Hey there!
Well welcome to Unity3d! Your scene looks alright. Once you get Unity you’ll get that scene in-game in no time! It’s really easy:) Well good luck with all!

First off, yes there all in Maya just preview render. The polycount is about 3k for the gun, 5k for the rooms, and I didnt use booleans because they make unnecessary cuts sometimes. I modeled the gun just by using a good reference and divided into sections with different polys for each part that way I can do some animation with it. Ill post some updates when i get some screenshots and the release for Windows comes out. Thanks for all the comments much apreciated.
Looking good man! And welcome to Unity and the forums!
Like I said about another artist made game here, Blue Galaxy, a fluent visual style is very improtant to create and maintain. Yours just needs more grime. More dirt, and more wear.
Keep it up!
Thanks and yea, your definatly right about the walls being to clean. The could use some grime. Right now im just doing alot of reough drafts like these to layout my ideas.
I know you responded to this already but I’ll still offer a +1 on what Dakta said. Those floors, good god man are they polished or what?!
Great work though, keep that up, please!
lol about the floors now that i take a second look, yea… I made a water texture but i put to much reflection on it so now the floor should look a little better. Ill have to see what the water would look like in Unity becuase in preview it looks fine but when it renders its to much. I just hid it for now.
Good stuff. Be sure to setup your lighting properly. One of the biggest mistakes you can make in 3d graphics is bad lighting.
Also, get to work with that 3d paint tool.
P.S. What was with that message from Minevr? Sounds unhappy for some reason. :?
The translation widget in OS X says: “Very ordinary model and truncation chart.” Very enlightening, I’m sure…

I got that same translation, but I didn’t bother posting it because of how little sense it made. >.>
Well, I like how the scene looks.
Just thought I would post one last level idea for more of an RPG Greek Mythology game. This one I built about 2 weeks ago but it took me a while. Still working on doing the lightmaps.
Nice work, looks great!
Request: I know that our forum doesn’t limit the size of images but would folks mind not posting blown out huge images in their posts? Maybe include a smaller version in your post that then links to a much higher rez version for the full eye candy? That way all plays nicely on our monitors?
As an example, see my first post in the Unity 2.5 announcement thread.
Thanks!
Sorry. Thanks for link.
So it IS water (in the first images.) That was my first impression. With some little animated bouncing ripples along the edges of things, it would look a lot more like water on the floor.
You’re going to have a blast with Unity.
