Very cool!
I like the way you dealt with the camera in Gobs, too. Good to have the ‘look ahead’.
I wasn’t sure about the rpg since I couldn’t get my dudes to attack each other … looks good, but I wanted some combat! ![]()
Thanks for the feedback, I’m currently working on the RPG.
That’s odd, you should be able to attack each other there since I haven’t implemented teams yet so anyone can attack anyone. Maybe you checked out the old version?
Its actually a prototype I hope we could show to investors to get some funding to make it a full-fledged game. Though its doubtful because of the economic recession.
It’s probably just because I didn’t know what I was doing, then - I was just clicking each other then clicking attack ![]()
Investment, eh? It’s certainly very tough out here, but I don’t think that it is actually any worse than it ever was - a lot of companies are just using the recession as excuses to cut costs (for example, “we fired half the staff and the other half now work 24hrs a day and they are scared into working so hard because everyone is saying there’s a recession - our profits have doubled because we only pay half the staff!”).
You’ll see that a lot of these failing game companies that are claiming to have been hit by the recession were on the road to failure long before the media told everyone that there was a recession … now it just gives them a good excuse to treat people like dirt or figure out new incredible government benefit scams!
Don’t worry about the recession, try to build a strong, well planned and structured product. If Microsoft will greenlight projects based on prototypes, we know that if you hit the right note there will always be funding somewhere out there ![]()
Good luck!
@psychicparrot: Thanks for the advice, the situation is we can’t find investors willing enough to risk their money on something like this. Anyway, to attack, first select one of your units, click on the attack button, then click on your target, he should be highlighted red, indicating he’s a valid target.
Updated the SRPG with new GUI and some basic foundation for team designations. You control the blue guys and the AI (will eventually) control the red guys.
Right now, ending the turn does nothing. Its supposed to make the opposing team take over, then they end their turn, then its your turn again.

Minor update, the move and attack range now has color and not just having borders, thanks to Jessy for the Mesh code reference. It looks like a simple addition but it was hell of a lot of code to do.
Also, the web player now maximizes to the screen height and width of your web browser window.
