Someone is selling Castle Crasher

Ffs, how much of a loser do you have to be to do that. Selling tutorials with swapped assets is common but here they are simply selling it as is. Can the Untiy team do something about it? There must be some kind of a copyright on those assets right?

I bought the game and refunded just to leave a review to warn not to buy it and… THERE ISN’T EVEN gameplay, you just watch a fight happening, none of the menu buttons actually work. This is the worst scam i have ever seen on Steam and that’s saying a lot.

Were you the one leaving review?

There’s developer’s response here:

I don’t think there’s anything illegal here.

Also, what if I want to play that Unity demo scene, but I don’t want to bother downloading Unity? Isn’t that worth a dollar?

Wow. Google Translate really butchers the response from the developer.

Are you chinese fluent, by chance? (I’m not)

Google translate usually processes asian languages into some quasi-english where you’d get a gist of it. It is some sort of semi-gibberish language.

The Google translate works here pretty well in my opinion. The guy is full of shit, saying he bought tens of thousands of dollars worth of assets. Yeah right. This is a scam, there is not even a game here.

I don’t think that’s what he’s saying.

It clearly says here that this set of materials and plug-ins are the official demos of prostitutes.

Or going by systran:

So it seems pretty clear to me.

But also, despite the shiny AAA window dressing, Steam at this point is a flea market, so I don’t understand what is so unexpected about this.

And finally:

What he’s selling isn’t illegal.
He is selling it for a dollar.

IMO, this isn’t really worth looking around for my pitchfork.

I’m not chinese fluent, so I’m not sure if that part is translated right. It probably isn’t. And I wouldn’t judge the dude based on auto translation.

By the way, this is from official game page:

So he told upfront where the assets are from.

I think he used it like RPGMaker.

Also, does Dino Crushers feature this dialogue?

Obviously OP didn’t read game description, before jumping the gun and purchasing the game, just to leave bad review.

The only fair thing from OP now is, to rewrite review, either to neutral, or positive, saying something along the line, that misjudged game description or developer’s intention, hence removing initial negative review.

If a ything, as far I am aware, Unity Asset store does not prohibts selling free assets as a game.
At leas developer did some additions, plus not even charging much at all for a game.

No. That first translation (which it’s no longer butchering interestingly enough) was just hilariously bizarre.

Not going to happen. In addition from it being basically a Unity tutorial, there is NO GAME there. It is a scam, the developer’s plan is to sell some copies because “shinny graphics” and hope that some of the buyers will not refund because it is so cheap. My review is a warning for people not to waste any money on this.

Also, there is a difference between using assets and selling assets. Using assets to make your own game is fine although it means it doesn’t have much of personality. Here, he didn’t make a game, he is selling the asset.

One person has already marked my review as helpful, so that’s at least one person that won’t be scammed, that’s what i call a victory.

That person was me.

I’d advise not to feel too strongly about things. Kinetic games are a thing, and this dude seems to have tried to do something with the assets. Steam’s two hour refund policy is still a thing so if you don’t like it, you can return it within 2 hours and get your money back.

Then why the hell did you remove it? Do you consider this is worth money? I’m not only posting a negative review because it is only assets, it’s also one of the worst games i’ve ever seen.

Reviews are not about spite, it’s about informing potential buyers whether a game is good or not and make an informed decision before buying.A lot of them won’t refund a game that cheap (i usually don’t), so this is basically a scam. I even had to relaunch the game and let it turn for a few minutes to leave a review since two minutes were enough to realize it was garbage.

Because I changed my opinion.

There’s detailed information on the front page of the game and the seller honestly says where the assets are from.

No. After all, I didn’t buy it. If it was worth the money, I would. It might be worth it for someone else.

And honestly, I’ve seen worse.

The description is all LIES. There is NO game. You just watch a fight happen, can’t click on anything. Then there is a small nonsense dialog and next fight. You can’t click anything on the menu, no interactions. I couldn’t believe my eyes how bad an experience this was.

Like @AcidArrow said, not worth looking for my pitchfork.

The flood of garbage made just by releasing a tutorial with pretty much no effort is a major issue on Steam. There are literally thousands of those every year, making it almost impossible for actual developers to be noticed.

Most of the low quality titles are not made by reskinning tutorials, however. Actually tutorial reskins are quite rare.

For example, go to steam, search for “Dude Simulator” and then click on developer name to see their titles and how often they release those.

If you’re adult, you can also search for “Hentai Puzzle” (Warning: NSFW/porn content). There’s 1300 of those at the moment.

And regarding new developer getting noticed, I think that’s what Marketing/Advertisments are for.

Man, you are way too salty about this. It’s less than a dollar and he’s not even doing anything illegal.
