Yesterday I released one of my first games onto the App Store and Google Play Store. I shared the game’s App Store and Play Store link with a Unity Facebook group and one of the members posted a picture of my code somehow. I am wondering how this is possible if I’ve never placed my code anywhere outside of Unity. Also, could this be a legal issue? What should I do?
How did you ‘post’ your game to the Unity Facebook group? Did you upload the project itself? If so, there’s your answer.
As far as legal is concerned, that’s tough. Code cannot be patented, but it can be copywritten if steps are taken. I would reach out the user posting this code and/or report the post to facebook. They will take it down if you imply copyright infringement.
