Because sometimes, crime doesn’t flush the first time! Help Kamodo Steve end the pollution of the local water supply.
The Game
Kamodo Steve is a retro style, 3D platformer for PC, Mac, and mobile devices. A bizarre and uncommon array of weapons and power-ups will aid you in this fast paced adventure to save the water supply of your town from the pollution that is decimating the health of your family and friends.
The Inspiration
The inspiration of this game comes from many creative and personal places for me. I grew up playing 2D platformer games, mainly from Nintendo Entertainment System that fostered a passion for the genre. Platformers combine skill, narrative, and action in a unique and engaging way. As such the game is a way to continue and build upon the genre. The game is also inspired by “The Tick”, the writing of Hunter S. Thompson, and the Erin Brockovich story. The concept of the game came about when a few of my loved ones were diagnosed with various forms of cancer. Because of the feeling of helplessness associated with this experience, I wanted to give the main character, Kamodo Steve, the power to change the fate of those that he loves and give him more than hope when faced with the same challenge that my family, friends, and myself had to deal with. I am using the medium of video games as a form of artistic expression to make a game that deals with this serious topic, in a way that still allows the player to be entertained.
