Sony Xperia Play NZ shipment Stolen, the whole LOT!

That’s right, someone{s} stole the entire shipment of Xperia Plays for New Zealand, an entire country’s worth of them. Stalling the launch. I shit you not.

And Sony is making out like this is bad news? ha. give us a break.

To me, this is the best news Sony’s likely to ever get with regards the Xperia Play… that someone{s} considered it worthy of stealing. I didn’t.

I see a marketing opportunity here. Or three.

  1. “hey, folks think our Xperia Play’s are worth stealing”
  2. “it was not stolen by anyone in NZ” NZ Premier, thereby elevating the IQ of Kiwi’s and furthering the tourist dollar.
  3. Sony and Vodafone NZ now have time to get some apps/games onto the device before the new ones arrive, giving the flotsam and jetsam it’ll become a little life.

UPDATE::: dismay dial at 10. it’s all bullshit, Vodafone NZ made it all up. On the other hand, it’s even funnier. Vodafone NZ thought this was marketing. From the beginning. They only WISH folks thought the Experia Play worth stealing.

It was fake, a publicity stunt by Vodafone. A rubbish one.

Sounds like Vodafone, a rubbish company, with rubbish to unethic PR ideas and practices (here in europe they used their strength to postphone HTC Sensation for all non vodafones by 1 month for example)

They still haven’t matched Acclaim PR. Offering to sponsor gravestones was the worst…
