[SOON] "The Fan" : A photorealistic thriller

Hi there!
I’m Cyril, Frenchie indie dev and new to the Unity community. I’m about to release my first game as a 1-man army and as it should be ready early 2016, I feel like it’s a good time to let you know about it =)

The fan is a first person exploration/adventure game with real locations and actors. You play as “The Fan”, a smart and successful serial killer abducting women to fulfill his dark fantasies. A couple of month ago, he fell in love like never before and the good news is: his dream girl is now waiting for him, tied up in his basement.
The game has a disturbing setting and is driven by a creepy atmosphere, as you learn more about the characters and wander in your lair in the Paris underground.

And facebook page: Redirecting...

I’m using Unity and mostly Lightroom for the pictures. I started the project in 2012 and did all the shootings, which was really fun but when it came to actually “make a game”, well, it took much more time, effort, tutorials, training and hard work than I expected

I didn’t know too much about programming and never used Unity before I started the game. Same for Lightroom or photo editing but it’s going pretty well now. I’m almost done with the production, fixed all the bugs I could find and I will release a cinematic teaser soon! I will also add screenshots with interface and menus so you get a better idea of the actual gameplay (it’s pretty straightforward “Telltale-style” point and clic, though)

Although The Fan is gonna be a pretty short experience (there are no overly twisted puzzles to keep you from going fast if you wanna rush it), it took thousands of pictures and a tremendous amount of work to make it look good enough. Please, tell me what you think!
I know there is not much on the website at the moment but stay tuned, plenty more pictures and news where it comes from =)

Here we are, the game is nearly finished and I’m trying to get it on Steam =)

Please, check out my Greenlight page and you might even vote for it if you like what you see!

Congrats on reaching top 100.
To be frank I don’t really know how the game has achieved this without any gameplay video. I guess people will vote for anything - just cause - on steam.

I like the quality of production - it looks very well done, eerie atmosphere, staging/framing and props are cool.
From reading on steam just a bit - its revealed this is going to be point and click, right? Without revealing spoilers a gameplay trailer is really important to show people this will be worth playing.

Can you share the average duration of the game from opening scene to ‘the end’?

Hi theANMATOR2b! Thanks for your feedback =)
It takes around 1 to 1 hour and half to complete the game.

I guess the game has done relatively well on Steam without a gameplay video because of the genre. If I see a point and click, I’ll judge it by the screenshot, it’s pretty straightforward.
I’ve just put together a ‘quick and dirty’ gameplay footage, though, here you go

Nice work - I think that trailer accompanied with the first trailer will entice the ‘prospective’ players - just enough  - who have voted yes on steam.
