Hey guys! Just showing my game/prototype Sorcerer’s Siege; the main idea is that you’re a Sorcerer riding a Gryphon, trying to protect your tower from attack by creatures sent by a rival. It was build over just under four weeks, and for now has the player squaring off against a flight of drakes. Its a shmup, but I wanted to stay away from making just another sci-fi shmup.
In the near future I intend to get this working on Android, and to continue expanding it. I would like to add other enemy types and challenges and maybe some alternate spells for the player; as well as a “waves” system that ramps up the challenge, to make it more of a real game.

It’s a nice start. The inverted controls really killed it for me though. It was smoother the second play through, with the normal controls. It seems you have some problems with your guitexture reticule? Always seems to be a wee bit offset from where he’s actually shooting.
Nice game.
Suggestions:
Make the lion thing run on the ground if you’re in contact with it.
What’s the point of rolling? It’s cool that you can fly upside down but it serves no purpose.
Smooth out the movement, maybe make different animations for turning and climbing / diving.
Move the reticle out further or make it dynamic so that it appears over the object you’re going to hit. Either that or make the wizard fire along the same axis as the camera to avoid this odd firing offset effect you’ve got going. There’s no shame in adding a bit of auto aim.
Change the default spell into an auto fire one, much more fun than clicking a lot and you can a bit of spread to the shots.
It’s quite difficult to prevent hits on the castle, you should make the enemy drop bombs or shorten their range. Make them circle the tower a bit when they get there. It would be good if they flew in formation as well, not only does this look cool but make them easier to see and hit. You can do a Lylat Wars style combo system for shooting down formations.
Ground troops, always fun doing strafing runs.
I can see this being a modern Magic Carpet. Keep it up.
Hey, thanks for the suggestions; a lot of those make good sense. And yea, theres issues with the crosshair; couldn’t find a solution that quite fit, but I have a few ideas.
And yea, there’ll definitely be ground-based baddies; got some thoughts for that too. It was in the original design doc, but had to be cut from this prototype because of time constraints.
Very nice idea! If you want some help with android or iphone porting just let me know
