Greetings from Wales!

It was a little hard to decide whether to post this in the WIP thread as it is available to buy now on Early Access with its full PC, Mac & Linux release in a couple of months’ time. Expect the console release during Q4 2015.

I’ll leave you with some of the game details below along with the trailer. Please let us know your thoughts and feel free to join in on the Early Access with the links below.

We’re currently working on a new trailer for Gamescom Cologne and we’re also in the middle of upgrading the engine from Unity 4 to 5.

You will be taken on an intriguing voyage of discovery, through beautiful, haunting locations, facing challenges that will lead you into danger on your mission to unlock your identity, your story, your mystery. But beware: some mysteries are better left unsolved.

Thanks Denn, Much appreciated! I’ll keep you updated with more screenshots coming soon

Great!
Where can we see you at Gamescom?

You can find us around a prominent stand which, unfortunately, we can’t actually announce just yet due to an NDA agreement. You can get in touch with us closer to the date to find out what stand or follow our Facebook/Twitter for notifications.

Feel free to drop me a line at ben[at]walesinteractive.com whenever. Cheers!

Here’s a couple of GIF’s to show off some of the game. The first being the front end menu followed by one showing the first power you collect. It’s called the ‘Phase’ power and essential materializes and de-materializes objects, meaning you can walk through them or have other objects pass through them. This is just 1 of 3 powers available in the game now with a 4th power to come very soon!

Hope you all like what you see and if you have any questions, just give me a shout!

We are currently in the process of upgrading from Unity 4 to Unity 5 and have come across more of a delay than expected. If anyone has been following the development you’ll know we’ve been releasing one level every 1-2 weeks but due to the long delay with the upgrade we have a couple of levels due to come out at once. Here’s a couple of sneak previews into the upcoming levels!

Please leave your comments or questions below

Cheers,
Ben

Greetings to the Unity community!!

A few weeks’ back I posted an announcement here and on Steam stating we’re upgrading the game engine from Unity 4 to Unity 5. If you haven’t seen that, you can click this link. Updating the engine has required us to completely overhaul every level and steps have been made to improve a number of aspects of the game which would have caused problems with the old engine. Because of this it has taken us a little longer than expected but it just means the final game will be a much improved version.

We are now happy to announce we’re very close to the end and have planned to release the new content next week.

We will make a detailed announcement of all the cool new features as well as bug fixes and general game upgrades when the update is complete but expect the main improvements on the surface of the game to be within the lighting, shaders, audio and general frame rate. Note that your hand powers will now illuminate areas that are intended to be dark. On top of this we’ll also be releasing the much awaited final levels of Chapter Four!

Here’s a few screenshots to show off some of the progress in the earlier levels…

Gamescom 2015 & New Trailer

It’s finally confirmed we’ll be taking Soul Axiom to Gamescom Cologne 2015! More top secret news will be coming soon with regards to this event so keep your eyes open for that as well as a brand new trailer. The trailer will feature a lot of unseen footage so you won’t want to miss it. Be warned… it’s cool, really cool!

Thank you all again for your patience with this update and we hope you’re all looking forward to completing Chapter Four!

Don’t forget if you want to support the game then you can leave a Steam review on the store page or share the game with your friends. Feel free to share any of our updates on our Facebook and Twitter also.

If you have any questions just get involved on the forum or get in touch at support[at]walesinteractive.com.

Greetings all!

The Wales Interactive team are back to release the Unity 5 update we’ve been working on for the past couple of months. You may have gathered from our previous update, upgrading a game engine mid-development is never an easy thing to do but it’s a decision we had to go ahead with to ensure we’d get the right outcome when releasing the final version of the game.

On top of the visual improvements we’re now working with a new physics system, new control mapping system and completely overhauled our audio system.

  • Some cutscenes have been updated but please note we’ll be continuing to update previous cutscenes as we currently have voice actors working on dialogue for all memories. These updates will be implemented along with other narrative updates in the coming weeks.

Hey, looks really nice.

those X Ray hands are incredible, im blown away. Impressive work!

Thanks both! We really appreciate the comments  The fourth and final hand power will be out soon so I’ll be sure to update you. Cheers, Ben.

Hi everyone! We’re back with the long-awaited Chapter Five update! First of all we’d like to apologise for the delay on this one, certain commitments for EGX pushed back the release date but we’re back on track now. We’re glad to say that EGX was a big result for us, with Nintendo featuring the game on their stand which is a huge achievement for us. We were right in there with some of the biggest games around and to our delight, Soul Axiom was one of the most asked after game in the Nindies section on the Nintendo stand.

So, with this update comes the fourth and final power! We also have three new locations to explore to get your new power and a further four new levels! Though, these aren’t levels as you’d expect them so read on to find out more…

NOTE TO THE COMMUNITY: We are looking for feedback on the Corrupt tutorial in the Tree Of Life level. Please get back to us with your thoughts on this and what you got from it. Did it take you long to get to grips with what you had to do and what the different Corrupt nodes do? If it’s possible and if you’d really like to take your support one step further, we would love to see a video playthrough of everything from the Forest levels to finishing the Zero levels. As little or as much of that would be extremely beneficial for us. No commentary needed either, we’d just like to see how you got on.

  • Say hello to your brand new hand ability, the Corrupt power! You’ll notice the portals have now opened to both the Good and Evil Forest, make your way through these areas to unlock your new power. With this you’ll act as a conduit for the energy beams and will also grant you access to all the new Corrupt Zero levels.

  • We’ve brought you 4 of the 12 Zero levels in this update which you’ll gain access to with your new power. However, you’ll have to hunt for these levels first. Remember those strange objects you’ve spotted around the place? (Which has now been redesigned) Well, you better remember where you saw them! Don’t worry if you haven’t, we’ve left you clues in the Trophy Room. NOTE: These levels are designed to be smaller and more dangerous than what you’ve experienced so far. There will be no PEMO’s but there will be video cutscenes to follow.

  • We’ve made a bunch of improvements throughout the game and have more significant ones coming up. You’ll notice we have improved the hologram animations and voice recording. We’re still working on improving all the cutscenes with voice acting and we will release once all the animation is complete.

  • We’ve completely overhauled the menu system for a number of reasons, mainly for lag reasons and also to improve the stability of editing the key binding in-game. NOTE: Whilst all the background work has been implemented, we are currently working on improving the design of the menu so stay tuned for that. We have also noticed a minor bug causing one of the option to be highlighted by the cursor, we’ll get this fixed ASAP.

  • Known Issues and WIP*

  • Improvements to the machine gun SFX in Warzone Zero.

  • Implement memory cutscenes.

  • Improvements to the Play aim area on the Corrupt Cube in Beach.

  • Improvements to the Corrupt tutorial (We’re looking for your feedback on this!)

  • Visual improvements to the Corrupt Console in the Trophy Room.

  • Major Bug Fixes and Improvements*

  • Toggle Crouch option added (Keyboard & controller)

  • Toggle Sprint option added (Keyboard & controller)

  • Fixed an issue causing the game to freeze in the options menu.

  • SFX added and improvements throughout the game.

  • Improved texture pass in some areas throughout the game.

  • Improved Corrupt textures.

  • Improved VFX on Angel cutscene in Elysian Fields.

  • New layout for Chapter 4 Tiers in HUB to move Winter HQ to the highest Tier.
