soundguybasel.ch for good soundtracks

Hello everyone

I am Lukas Fretz, a music composer… don’t close the thread yet  I started composing music for the asset store long a go. But in the last years I wasn’t sure if i should keep doing that. I recently rearranged my homepage with the intention to make a library of tracks, collections and sfx packs and get it up there to make navigation of my sounds a bit easier and voila I got new motivation. Feel free to check it out and give me some feedback: www.soundguybasel.ch
The page is not finished and also the soundtracks are not on the Asset Store yet. Please tell me what you think. Also I’d like to know what kind of music you want for your project. Thanks a lot!!

Hi
I just updated the about me section on www.soundguybasel.ch

Who is this sound guy?

Composing music and creating sounds is my passion. Making that sound that brings a scene to life or makes it more believable makes me very happy. I am Lukas Fretz from Basel Switzerland. I studied music and media arts (now or soon called soundarts) in Bern. I also was always interested in all the interactive arts and 3d rendering and such things. I also started to experiment and program things with Unity and Blender. Although I have to say i am not a visual artist at all, it is important to me to know the tools and the workflow of people who create these beautiful places where everyone wants to go. For me, the music takes exactly these places and feelings to the next level by enhancing that feeling you want the consumer to experience. I also work parttime (80%) as an audio engineer at the swiss national radiostation srf (
www.srf.ch).

Why soundguybasel.ch?

I have made this site to have a place to show my work. Because i experiment with a lot of different things I want to have a place to put it out there. The soundtracks, collections and sound effects should just be a start. I put them on this site because i believe if you need soundtracks for interactive applications, it is a must, to hear how it could apply to that media. I think that making the music playback linearly is the wrong way….

What else will i find here?

I am planning to also upload my other work. What i am really looking forward to is putting up documentations about how i do things. I don’t know in what form i will do that yet, because there are so many different kind of things i want to show

What does this guy work with?

Here is a small list of the most recent software I use:

  • Logic Pro (+many many vsti libraries)
  • Max Msp
  • Unity
  • Unreal Engine
  • Blender

what do you think?

Also I am now preparing everything to go live on the Asset Store, but will wait until my info@soundguybasel.ch email works again. which should be next week.

i am working on a big horror audio pack now to sell on the assetstore (there will also be a free version). now i know there are lots of such packs out there but i think they are not very complete. It will include ambience tracks to set the mood, stingers, stabbers, hits, and short music fragments. i will work on the implentation as well. are there any other ideas or experiences on what else you guys need for your horror game’s sound?

Just added whispering phrases to the list. So far I have two looping soundtracks, 4 piano melodies, 10 ambience tracks, 7 noisy beats, some 12 tone music fragments.

Next on the list are stingers, screams, and sfx like knocking, smashing doors, and squeaky floor and of course more soundtracks.

thanks for your suggestions.
