Source code....

Hi , i would like to buy the source code to the engine when 2.5 version comes out but , i mailed them and they said i have to be in a company. I don’t see why though :frowning: so i mailed them again saying… " How about if i made a company website " But they never replied back.

Any ideas.?

Incorporate then try back.

Sorry , what do you mean by that lol . ?

I think UT mean that they wont sell their Source to an individual. You must be a registered company (in whatever format that means for your specific country).

it is most likely that there will be some legal requirements to adhere to when purchasing the Source from UT that requires a company to enforce.

A website will not make a difference to wether you are a legitimate incorporated company or not.

BTW… why would you want to buy the source? Apart from being very expensive, what could you possibly need to do as an individual developer that you cant already in Unity?

If you are not a company, chances are pretty low that you have the ten tousands to hundreds tousands of USD the source license actually costs

Most likely why we didn’t reply officially is because when we ask, “are you incorporated?” and you reply with " no, but what if I make a website?" we can safely assume that the likelihood of you having the necessary funds to buy a source license from us is incredibly small.

Maybe you should have a go at the trial version of Unity for 30 days to see if buying a source license is really necessary for your needs.
