Hello! I develop the Soyuz-MS spacecraft in the Russian Space Agency.
I love this ship very much and I want to make a simulator of this ship on. I gathered a small team of people who also love this ship and we started a project to develop the first in the world (!) Spacecraft simulator Soyuz that will be available to anyone and for free.
I have a lot of information about this ship, such as drawings, design and technical documentation, various types of specifications, algorithms for all systems at all stages of flight, more than 10,000 photos in huge resolution, and even true codes.
I have a few questions about the development of his project. 1. Is Unity suitable for this kind of simulator? 2. Will I be able to get support in this forum when developing our project? 3. Were there any similar projects on Unity?
P.S. I am still assembling a team and if somebody is ready to join us, I will be very happy, as it will be faster and more convenient together. Information is more than enough, it is necessary to integrate it into Unity.

Welcome! This sounds like a very interesting project.
Yes, you can do this sort of simulator in Unity. Look at Kerbal Space Program, if you haven’t already; it is developed in Unity and is very similar to what you want to do (though less serious).
You will certainly find support here when you need it. I would volunteer to join your project myself, if I had the time, but unfortunately I don’t… but I will follow your progress and be happy to advise whenever you get stuck.
Good luck!
I’m doing similar work with NASA and Unity, please message me directly!

I would be able to create a separate topic for a story about how we develop a simulator and show iterative data about the Soyuz spacecraft, as well as answer your questions regarding this ship and its work.
The question of how to make a model of the earth’s surface should be only to simulate the motion of a spacecraft, so that this happens at the first space velocity and altitude of 198.8 km (km) and 228.5 (apogee) km the ship will do one a revolution (revolution) around the earth in 88.50 minutes.
What did you think of Kerbal and Moonwards? They both have a model of the Earth’s surface. You might want to check out the Unity Asset Store to save yourself some time, also
