First of all, since this is my first post here, big greeting to developers and users of this great tool.
In link below you will find tech demo of project my team and i intended to start couple years ago but due to lack of dedicated time to develop from scratch such project, most of our concept remained on paper. Unity becoming free gave us opportunity to finally made some progress in visual implementation of our idea.
Space will be Frontier/Eve like game with accent on multiplayer, but well suited for solo play. It will be free, code and content will be open source. Collaboration in this project and user driven further development is welcome.
Web frontend and functionality (user registering, char creating, server side game object and event handling) are also in development and in this moment is functional with basic features mentioned above. Next step for project will be connection of database data with actual game mechanisms.
We are looking forward for comments and suggestions.
Very nice start, I really liked the visual elements of this project. Having said that, I found your method of navigating (double clicks on the screen) extremely cumbersome. How, for example, would you turn your ship around (180 degrees) using your method?
