Specular disappears when shadows are baked - Unity 5.0.1

What I’m seeing is that as soon as I bake shadows all my specular highlights seem to go away. I’m hoping someone has seen this before or has an idea what might be causing it.


Once baked:

I’m new to Unity, so it might be me. I haven’t seen anyone else posting about this problem. I started with a fresh scene to reduce the variables. This is just the default shader on a pair of unity cubes.

Try changing your lightmap type from directional to directional specular.
