Is this on the table for 5.2 or should we be looking at other shader solutions? we have gotten reports it was going to be in the next release of unity from speed tree here:
Would really appreciate some confirmation or a general idea of when we can expect this and to who ultimately we should be bugging about this feature.
We don’t have the PBR shader for SpeedTree for 5.2. As a work-around, maybe you can grab SpeedTree.shader from the builtin shader package and try change the lighting model to Standard.
Ok, will this be updated in the roadmap at some point? its not even listed as an unscheduled feature currently and its been promised for some time now. what is necessary for its implementation?
Ive read some time ago on the speedtree forum that the pbr shader will be made by the guys from speedtree but they are first waiting for the unity team to fix existing problems with the speedtree integration.Go to their forum and will notice that more people are speaking about the topic+unity but it looks like the speedtree priority for them is right now on hold until the unity integration problems are fixed.
I too am waiting for this. Right now we’re working on our project with longterm expecting an update for SpeedTree to add in the currently missing features. As we’re currently no where near shipping, we await the update patiently.
