SpeedTree wind quality performance concerns

I switched my project to all SpeedTree trees (which I’m a fan of) and I noticed that they have a “Wind Quality” parameter in Unity. The “Best” setting looks great but I’m concerned about what that’s doing to performance. Does anyone know anything about it? I tried to find details through SpeedTree but I didn’t see much.

Are you guys just leaving it on the default, which is Best, or are you changing it to something else?

It would be awesome if there was a way to change the setting on SpeedTree trees attached to a terrain at run-time based on the QualitySettings value in Unity.

The settings come in from SpeedTree Modeler. If you have your wind setup in there, these settings propagate over. If you’re using something you bought and don’t have access to the SpeedTree Modeler App for Unity, you’re likely at the mercy of how it was built.
