Hello,
I have an idea of where I would like to create a 3D project based on a center point of Vector 0, 0, 0, and I would like the physics, the path finding, the gravity, the second and third person controller, the translations and everything that has to do with 3D, to be based on a spherical center point, and also create spherical terrains. Is there a way to do this? So far, I can only select ‘3D’ and ‘2D’ for my new projects, but wouldn’t it be a neat idea to be able to select ‘3D spherical’ and easily make a spherical environment (like they did in Super Mario Galaxy), and have it built into Unity?
It sounds awesome but unfortunately that is not supported. You basically need to handle all those by your own code.
Can they put that in the next version? Could they maybe make a patch for it?
It’s not on the roadmap for the next version, and its a non-trivial feature addition so its not something they can just throw together real quick into a patch. Send some feedback for this new feature request, or vote up one of the existing requests on this topic.
