I’m a little confused.
I have just received an email informing me that if I do not renew or upgrade my subscription, the splash screen can no longer be customized / switched off.
Wasn’t it mentioned last time that this should now also be included in the Personal plan?
I then compared the plans:
and indeed, customizing the splash screen is not included in Personal.
Me too! I wonder if that functionality was added long long time ago but the more corporate oriented Unity decided to not advertise it much amymore to sell Pro xD
Unity is going to remove the “Made with Unity” logo
I’ll keep it in my projects even if it is a option but I wish there is more options like “Made with Unity”, “Powered by Unity”, “Built with Unity”. It will be easier to customize the splash screen with company logo and Unity logo together in one screen if default “Made with Unity” is removed.
Unity knows we love Unity and we want to make it beautiful.
Good afternoon, at the end of last year it was said that with the release of the new version (Unity 6), it will be possible to disable SplashScreen in the Personal plan. Today (May 6, 2024) I installed Unity 6 Preview and this button is active on my Personal plan! Let’s thank the Unity team for keeping their promises!
Unity’s original promise was that they allow the removal of splash screen in Unity 6 release. They, for some reason, did it in preview. Was it planned or by mistake? Who knows, but it doesn’t really matter either, it doesn’t add any value either way.
I feel like you’re thinking of “Unity 6 Preview” in a manner similar to a beta or release candidate but it’s just a normal tech release like we’ve had in the past. Removing the splash screen was supposed to come at the same time as the new runtime fee but the fee is tied to the LTS which is “Unity 6”.
The option to remove it is in the release notes though so who knows.
Update or just a mistake in communication but this is how it looks today that I was visiting Unity site and as you can see, the Splash screen feature is not available in the free tier according to the site.
