I’m new to baked lighting but have read and watched many instructionals. I have lit two different projects without issues, but this simple house is super splotchy and I can’t figure it out. It seems to be a problem when I use Baked GI / Ambient GI. I can’t find answers to this, I dont know what to look up!
Also, the two cubes in the top right: the left is part of the house fbx and the right cube was made in Unity. The two meshes are affected differently…

You’ve got overlapping lightmap UVs. Click on the model in the Project panel and set it to generate lightmap UVs, or in your 3d modeling application do them manually on UV channel 1.
Thanks for your help! I have clicked on the model and am looking in the project panel and the inspector and I am not sure where to set it to generate lightmap UVs… can you elaborate where that option is?
EDIT: Also I should mention that I haven’t “built” the bake yet. I am just looking in the Unity preview
Heres a weird thing. I had the roof mesh disabled so I could see inside the house, but as soon as I add the roof back on, the baked lighting works fine… I still want to understand how this works though
oh jeez, I was either looking in the inspector while clicking on the scene model, or looking in the project window while clicking on the project model. Can’t believe I missed that.
Thanks so much for clearing that up for me!
