Spotlight rendering

Hi all,

I have a spotlight attached to my camera in the FPS controller. I can point the light around my room (a simple box) this way, like I am holding a flashlight but the rendering is off.

If I have a spotlight by itself and point it to the floor to wall transition the light is rendered as a long oval on the floor and becomes a circle on the wall (this is correct). However, as soon as I attach the spotlight to the camera, the light renders as if I am looking through a hole, the objects it is shining on do not affect the rendering.

I have set the render mode to force pixel, and it has no effect.

Can someone point me in the right direction as to where to even start looking at this?

Thanks,

Jaggar

Are you attaching a light component to the camera object? If so, that wouldn’t give the best results. Attach a light component to an empty game object and move it to the camera’s position, move it slightly ahead of the camera and then parent the light to the camera so that they move together. This should give you the desired result.

Thanks, this does work much better!
