Sprinter, An Illustrated Action Game. Open Testing. (Win, Mac, Linux)

Sprinter is my new game, that will be coming to Steam in a few weeks. So I wanted to open it up to the community and see what you all think.

Here is the Trailer: (Make sure sound is on!)

If you like the look of the trailer, and are willing to offer some of your valuable time to play this game and give me feedback then I would be utterly and unendingly grateful.

I’m looking for any game breaking glitches, or any opnions on the difficulty (its designed to be challenging) and mechanics of the game. Basically just play it and tell me what you think!

The game is recommended to be used with a Gamepad. (Most common gamepads are supported, and keyboard controls are also implemented.)

Here are DRM free links for Windows Mac and Linux.

Hey,

Nice stuff here. I really like the art, the ambiance and the gameplay ! I like the fact that it’s getting hard quickly. The repetitiveness of the challenge is part of the fun.

Here is my report of some issues based on the PC demo:

  • Once I got stuck quickly right after the 3rd trap ( purple corner): I did reach once the validation area (blue) where I found my “leader” but I could not go any further. I could not do nothing. Just got stuck there (critical bug)
  • I found the file size of the game really huge given the simplicity of the art. It takes several minutes to load strangely.
  • I found some of the colored tip not obvious enough. The 3rd trap, it’s not really obvious what you have to do. I would not assigne the RS button to this swap it with the yellow button
  • it’s not completely clear when it’s interactive and when it’s not (start point). May be animate the colored tip with a scale / pulsar effect when you enter its area of interaction. And may bt the trap itself should be animated somehow when you are near enough to enable or disable it

Thanks for taking the time to play it, I will take all of your comments into account for sure. I have already fixed the first critical bug, so thanks sooooo much for that!

Can I ask what you hardware is that you were playing it on? Mainly interested about the CPU Processor.

The game is big because its all 2D drawn art, and unity really liked to balloon texture sizes, even when compressed. The initial loading time only happens once. I may change the begin screen to warn users about that.

You are welcome about the bug.

Regarding the hardware, I could not tell about the CPU because I played on a PC I don’t have access to at the moment. If it’s still make sense, I can update you about it in about two weeks and I will report the hardware specs. What I know is that I played on Windows 10.
