When I change my sprite atlas packer mode from V1 to V2, all my contents inside the atlas becomes individual add, converted from the folder element.
This is … incredibly not useful and not workable.
V2 should support folders as its tooltip suggests. It should keep the folder reference from V1, not exploding into individual elements.
Think about it, if you have 1000s of elements, the list will become… lol…I am not even sure inspector can even handle that. Let alone it is impossible to work with practically.
Please fix this!
This has been fixed. Will post an update to this thread once the version is available for download.

SpriteAtlas V2 supports folders as packables since Version 2022.1 ( Official - Sprite Atlas v2 in Unity 2022.1 beta - Unity Forum ). For more info on V2 please check : Unity - Manual: Sprite Atlas V2 (unity3d.com)
Note:
SpriteAtlas V1 has always supported folders as packables.
