Sprite editor taking 19+ hours (and still going) to slice image

The image is 3494 KB and 2816x3792. It’s a 16x16 pixel texture but I applied 8 pixels per unit in the inspector because it looks better that way for how my game is set up. I also sliced it to 8x8 in the sprite editor.

Would like to know if this is a bug or does it really take that long to slice an image like this? It’s still slicing as I post this thread. I attached a screenshot and the smaller watermarked version of the image I’m trying to slice.

Step to file a bug
1 - In unity go to Help tab
2 - In the Help list look for “Report a bug…”

Yes, it’s still slicing. It’s been 31 hours now. But there are times where I’ve had to wait around 8 hours until the image was successfully sliced (that’s after hitting “Apply” in case I didn’t make it clear). So I will wait for this and see if it finishes.

I’ve not yet tried the latest LTS version, I will try it after.

The image is finally done being sliced. Wasn’t able to check the time it finished. I’ll have to put it into a Tile Palette which will also take a very long time.

I’ll try the latest LTS version and file the bug.
