Sprite not visible without SpriteRenderer

I need to create a sprite that has a Mesh Renderer but it conflicts with the Sprite Renderer, so I remove the SpriteRenderer Component and add a MeshRenderer to it but then the sprite becomes invisible. Even if I add it an Image Component, it is still invisible. How can I solve this?

As far as I’m aware if you are using a 2D sprite you cant have a mesh renderer on it. A mesh renderer shows a mesh… 3D object, sprite renderer shows an image. So you cant put a sprite on a 3D object unless you apply it as a texture.
