Sprite Packer Newb Help

Hi I am just getting started using the Sprite Packer but am a little confused about somethings.

  1. when I pack my sprite, the resulting image appears in my Sprite Packer window. This is odd as A) there are no buffering gaps between colors(individual textures) and B) the odd shapes. Each sprite is a square.

  2. I am unsure how to access this new atlas texture. Am I simply to drag in any individual sprite into scene and it is referenced via its tag in sprite packer? So in essence it is drawing from the new atlas?

Sorry to push this, but I have tried from scratch and again am having issues with the atlas created.

I have a group of sprites. I set each to Sprite(2D and UI). I tagged them all “name”. I opened the Sprite Packer. I pressed Pack.

Now, when the atlas is shown in the window, it only contains 1 of the group.

I tried again, this time retagging a couple of the sprites. This time it worked, however, the background contains a white line.

Still have not received any help on this matter. I do have another question tho.

What if a sprite I import is not POT? Does this matter if its is part of an atlas, built via sprite packer?
