Squirly: reward / clash gems with a simple squirrel game

I used to work on a squirrel game on Unity3D in the past called Squirly. The problem was that the guys I worked with didn’t want to make any cash with it eventhough I did. They had me work on it for a long while before telling me that so I really wasted a lot of time… Anyway that’s why I ended up quitting devided. They now finished it without me and its become a terrible game, eventhough it started out as a good idea. Before I left I built a ‘backdoor’ to still be able to see the code just in case.
When I looked at it the last time I saw that they are going to reward the first person with some kind of prize but im not 100% sure what it is. Its looking like its going to be a prize based on the first person to obtain the highscore or finish the game.

See the code here:

Whoever gets the first 50.000 points gets a prize equal to 500.000. I think the 500k is based on clash gems, but it can be something else as well! The first person gets all as far as I can grasp. Anyone want to help me trick the game maker out of this money? It will probably take a decent gamer about 1 week, if even.
Ill share half the reward with the first person to reach the high score, ill give more info if you contact me and agree to my terms in advance! PM me or reply here.

Just so you know, what you are proposing is a crime.

I put a lot of time and effort in this project without any payment. Now I found out that they’re going to reward a player and I don’t think that’s fair. What would you do? Just stand by and do nothing?

You worked on a project without hammering out terms. You left on your own. They completed it and released it.

I don’t expect you to do nothing. I expect you to grow up and move on.

I certainly wouldn’t behave in a manner that would get me punished instead of the perpetrators.

As you’ve worked on the project take your source project when you quit and make a competitor to their product, which doesn’t sound particularly compelling at any rate.

Is this some weird new way to advertise a game? If yes, then it’s brilliant!

You realize that this is in fact illegal and can get you into serious trouble right? The fact of the matter is you were ignorant and signed up for a project without getting assurance in some form that you could get payment. That is your own fault.

Stealing does not make it right and frankly if I felt I could track them down with minimal hassle, I would report you to them. As it is I have reported you to the moderators.

Yeah I agree! But gets me wondering about this prize… I just checked the provided screenshot and it’s getting me curious…
@Steven, did you create the ‘backdoor’ yourself, or did you work with the team on this script?

Let’s see, it’s good advertising that an individual trying is trying to emulate the NSA and other big bad organizations data collection abuses and spying behavior? No. I can see how people will reject downloading said SW you’ve programmed a back door into as you could extend the same courtesy to the users of the backdoored software and root their smart devices. Curiosity? No. Not even as much as watching a pot of water come to a boil.

Well, if you poke around a little bit you’ll find that one of the people involved had a job in web security and claims to be an ethical hacker. Therefore I don’t exclude the possibility this being part of some kind of ARG or viral campaign, although it wouldn’t exactly match the theme of the game.

Other possibility is me having withdrawal symptoms of ARGs and starting to see them everywhere.

Also, nobody else finds it funny that the posted image is a photo of a screenshot of a photo, and the method in the photo is called screenshot?

(Also, posting evil plans in plain sight including the name of the game and company where everybody including the company itself can read it )

First of all, I created a backdoor to the code but im not stealing anything nor am I planning on sabotaging them in any way. Let that be clear.

Second of all what I do want to achieve is that if they are planning to pay out other people before me, is get my fair share. Thats why im informing other people about the prize because I want to find out if they will pay up. That’s why I’m collecting gamers to help me achieve the highscore of 50k points (which I know is really hard/impossible to get, if they didnt change too much in the original gameplay).

Third of all goat - what you are proposing to take source code and just leave and build a competitor game sounds to me like a lot more dodgy than what im doing here. I just posted a screenshot without taking or stealing anything rather than leaving with my own and others work for my own benefit.

“Just so you know, what you are proposing is a crime.”

So last of all goat, I think what you are proposing is actually a crime and what I’m doing is just benefiting within the framework given to me - collecting prize money.

What is the game name?

Is it available for download?

It’s called NetHack and you can get it right here: http://www.nethack.org/

I cannot think of a single business that wouldn’t try be upset if they discovered that you had left a backdoor in their code. Simply having it there should be more than enough to initiate a lawsuit and I could imagine someone making a very good case against you.

Either you provide evidence that you have not taken advantage of it or it is merely your word that you have not. Given that you are the one who put it there, I would be extremely hesitant to take you on your word.

What you’re doing is actually a form of espionage and actually also super illegal.

Be very careful people. This kind of Troll is known as ‘Arses Sensationalis’. It is a Type 3 Troll that doesn’t need toilet paper as it uses its own tongue. It gets angry when a porno download is going slow and also that no one believes it plays for Real Madrid.

It has frequent drooling of the ballsack and a rash at the end of its nose. It feeds by creating sensational stories because it lacks reality due to micro penis syndrome.

Was the backdoor an actual physical door? Because I find it strange that you claim to have built a backdoor that lets you see the code, but you have managed to take a photo of an angled computer screen. I also find it strange that the prize would be placed INSIDE the source code - makes no sense to me.

I just don’t believe any of it.

Yes it is now, it’s actually called Squirly but they don’t seem to do any marketing. So I want to find a few players before they reach any kind of player base.

I tried to check in the code again to see if the hidden prize is still there, but they seemed to have found out about my backdoor now. So I can’t check it anymore.

For those skeptical no-lifers here, go find another Forum topic, because you’re not adding anything and I just want to make my statement because I WAS THE ONE who was wronged, not the other way around!!

Is this a really poorly thought out marketing strategy or something?

Yeah, I wonder why? You make a thread here, and they must have found out about it :).
