This is a game made by a group of students at UCF. It is a fighting game where everytime you win you move to another platform. it is made to be a tug of war style type of game. each player is trying to get to one side the level and must win all platforms.
congrats for the game but I have to mention that Vikings had no horns on their helmets
GREAT CONCEPT!!
Pretty nice elegant design.
The animations really need some work. The only time the character looks like the animations are working properly with the environment is when he is running. All other times the feet are sliding and skating all over the place.
Consider IK or editing the speed of the animations to match the foot placement. This will also help to make the animations look more natural with having variable increases and decreases in speed for the animations. Nobody moves at the same speed all the time.
The jump animation would benefit from a couple extra frames and a more fluid transition in/out of jump.
When a player falls off the edge it would increase the feeling of defeat by showing the fall 2-3 seconds longer and transitioning the animation into a agonizing fall to your death animation sequence. I suggest you should also name the animation file agonizingfaalltoyourdeath.anim.
To increase the sense of victory it would be nice to have a victory condition when each new level is gained. Weather that is an audio queue, fx, or something - it would add to the feeling of victory.
Though the environments are nicely modeled and look good - they also look very static and lifeless. This is a personal point I would address in the later stages of polish, but adding secondary animation to the environment really adds another layer of character to the scenes and enhances the overall look.
I think framing the cameras 1-1.5 meters farther back behind the characters would also enhance the feel of the game by allowing the player to know whats to the characters left and right side, so they can strategically maneuver the character in addition to just spamming attack/defend.
The characters look well constructed and texturing is sound.
Congratulations on releasing a playable build.
