StarForge - IndieGoGo Campaign, Unlimited Procedural Weapons, Infinite Voxel Terrain

I thought I’d post a new update on our game StarForge. We have been working hard on it since it went viral back at the end of May and have developed a lot more stuff into the game. You can see it all in the new video below:

We have also launched an IndieGoGo campaign:

We have passed our goal and are now working towards some cool stretch goals. The next goal is a dynamic ecosystem. If you like our game, we hope you can help support it’s development by pledging on our campaign. The alpha is half price for a limited time.

You can play the StarForge demo here - http://www.starforge.com/

Were using Unity3D as our engine. Please let us know what you think, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask them. :sunglasses:

Wow congrats you actually got 100k. I just hope you can do all the things you say you can do for that money.

This game looks insanely fun, Any beta testing :stuck_out_tongue: nudge nudge

I tried the Alpha a few months back, the physics were really impressive. As a former structural designer I have to say I like the stress simulation. The tension, shear and compression graphics looks like ANSYS. Good job!

Saw this on Greenlight. Thought “Oh wow, looks nice.” Read the description: “Made with Unity.” o.O

Gotta say, nice work! It looks incredible! Congrats on the indiegogo success, and good luck with the Greenlight!

Looks pretty neat in many ways, and most of all impressed by the believability of the alien world graphic style.

Covered in the campaign.

My exact reaction. My favorite thing I have seen made in Unity by a large margin. Going to pledge now :).

I WANTZ! Nice looking game, love the visuals! Should be fun.

Wow, thanks for the kind comments and support guys! We love Unity too and couldn’t have made a better decision. We also thank the community for all their support in so many ways, from searching for answers on coding questions, to the amazing asset store and all it’s talented developers.

One day I would love to do a really in-depth postmortem covering both the business and design ends of our game and how things came to be and what the toughest parts were. So far I think one of our biggest mistakes was going F2P as it’s not really something for indies especially if you don’t want any Pay2Win (which we were always so against, we only liked a F2P with more cosmetic like purchases and the fact that it’s easier for people to try out). You also need insane upfront investment to make it work and should only do it if your gonna release your game with at least $100 worth of items for your community to purchase day one. Otherwise, unless people donating out of support for the projects vision, you just won’t be able to pay bills at end of the month. Big mistake number two was our servers that process payments dying for 5 days during and after our first video went viral back in June, with no IGG or Kickstarter to back it. I’ve got so many more things to say, but will have to process it all and post about it in the future.

We’ve posted a new video “Fort Defense Mode Video - Alpha Gameplay” http://youtu.be/1oJuZDsDzcw Gives everyone an early glimpse of the first mode were gonna release in the game. Let me know what you think.

really impressive!
you do an awesome job!!!

realy good work!
i love weapon factory!

I really don’t say this often… but awesome work! I hope you guys do really well!

We are in the last 24hrs of our IndieGoGo campaign. Now heading towards Procedural Horror! We’ve also hit #17 on Steam Greenlight - StarForge | Indiegogo

A huge thanks to everyone for your kind comments and support.

Pledged and good luck with your project

Just amazing!

This is amazing! I’m a sucker for science fiction, but the graphics are still breathtaking!

I’m only sad that I probably missed the opportunity for writing music for this project; it looks like something I’d want to be involved in.

Hey, congrats on getting greenlit guys! Looks like this one’s set up to be a hit. Nice work!!

This is a great game, although I’m wondering why your so new to the forums? It appears like you have been working with Unity for quite awhile and know what your doing. How come you haven’t shown your face around here?

I’m always around lurking. But I never seem to have enough time to post.
