I’m using Facepunch for my Steamworks integration and I have been plagued for the last several months by the Steam overlay appearing over my editor windows such as the inspector. This happens every time I use Shift + Tab on my keyboard. I do this often when navigating through text fields and it’s such a pain. How do I turn this off?
Are you launching Unity through Steam?
You can enable or disable the overlay globally or for certain games/apps only (see “Enabling the Steam Overlay”):
No Unity is not launched through Steam, however my game uses Steamworks. I’ve noticed that during the development of this game Steam belives that Unity is the game itself and has tracked the total playtime inside the editor. I’d rather not disable the overlay entirely, it’s useful while actually playing a game.
Anyone found a solution to this? It’s so so so annoying.
Nope…
i’ve used Heathen’s Steamworks and Steamworks.NET, shift tab didn’t do anything there… (playtime gets tracked from editor though).
maybe change key in steam until find other solutions? (or disable overlay)
Pleeeeezeeee—I need a solution for this. It’s killing me in 2020.3.6!!
The solution is one post up from yours.
This is not a solution, it’s a workaround. A crude one.
This worked for me even though I’m not launching Unity through Steam. Thanks for the suggestion!
