Steam Shop?

Just curious if this has been tried, but has the idea of releasing games with steam in the steam shop been tried? I know some Ogre games that use steam for testing but I didn’t know if any indie commercial games made it through there?

The Graveyard is a Unity-made game on Steam:

I think there are others, too…

If steam finds your game worthy, you will get nice cash. I use steam and I love it.

Indeed, one of my many dreams is to publish a game on steam.

What’s the typical percentage Steam/Valve charges to publish the game?

They only charge some % from your sales, they don’t ask money just to publish the game. They review it and if it’s good, it is accepted

Sorry I wasn’t clear, that’s what I meant. What percentage of your sales does Steam charge?

Might want to email them and ask? I bet they charge less from indies, because valve and steam is the best company.

Our game isn’t near completion, but I’ll ask when we have something to show. I just assumed that someone on this thread had published through Steam.

I’ve noticed they have an indies section now, so you might be right about them charging less to indie developers.

He wouldn’t be allowed to share his percentage, its covered in Valve’s extremely brutal NDA

Though I have yet (that’s right, YET) to deal with Steam, we have dealt with them for engine acquisition.

That’s pretty much all they’ll legally let you say :stuck_out_tongue:
