Greetings forum.
I ran into major problem after the new VRTK update.
The capsule gameobject representing the body of the player cannot be reached by the enemy objects. The raycasts are working well, however the enemies are walking around the Play Zone. Before the update they could easily walk up-close.
Are there any other ways, aside from raycasting, for the enemies to detect player presence?
You should check the scripts, sounds like something is set to ignore the layer your player is on. Or, there is something not being ignored (like the enemies own bodies). Raycasting is usually the most reliable way to do this, so I think your problem is elsewhere.
Thank you for pointing out the other possibilities!
Turns out that the new version of VRTK applied a new script that creates its own collider. That was the conflict with my script and the collider I created. It was not detected because it was a collider within another collider.
