Stellar Jets - WiP

Stellar Jets, my fourth game in development. Hopefully this will end up as a on-rails shooter.
I choose this type of game as it will give me a chance to create large levels which is something I haven’t done before.

Luvvie Ducks was my third game, but didn’t really resonate with anyone to be honest (zero replies throughout the wip and madewithunity threads) so another reason I choose Stellar Jets is to create a slightly more appealing game.

Level 1 begins to take shape.

Next version will revolve around adding detail to the level.

Looks fun and fast-paced. Obviously the graphics aren’t there, but this is just a demo of the capabilities of the game.

I can imagine how you can have a spaceship flying around, shooting enemy spaceships and dodging comets and asteroids. Also you could raid planets that would be heavily defended and gain resources.

Also I’d recommend designing the game for your target platform FIRST, instead of developing for Windows THEN Android. That way all you can catch Android problems sooner.

Yes it is very bare bones at the moment, it does look slow but once I create a bigger level I can increase the speed first.
Also all of the graphics is just placeholder stuff for now. I am working on a player model right now.

Here is the second progress video for Stellar Jets.

A few models are created like the player, asteroid and laser.
The asteroid will break up into pieces when you shoot it 3 times.

The next version will hopefully see the creation of a boss battle.

That’s pretty cool. Why not make enemy airplanes?

Making some enemies is on my next todo list. Along with, hopefully, some kind of boss battle.
Hopefully I can get them acting like spaceship convincingly, a lot of it will be new to me.

You can see that there is a boss model in place and he has two different attacks.
The boss can talk via a conversation UI.

Also the player can activate a shield.

Looking to get a basic playable demo ready soon.

Here is the fifth progress video for Stella Jets.
A lot of work was done on the level but there is still much to do.

Next up is to add some kind of ally indicator onto the player’s allies plus keep adding to the level.
