StellarBrink is a brand new video game designed and created by Daniel Kole. The game has only been in production for 3 short months and has come so far in that time. It is a Role-Playing Sci-Fi/Action Crafter.
Planned for release on PC, MAC, and LINUX versions. With XBOX and other platforms planned in the future.
The game is centered around the player’s character and his starship in a vast randomly generate universe. The locations in StellarBrink are made up of completely changeable tiles that can be removed and placed at will. The player’s starship interior is their home base… designed how the player wants it to be… using consoles, walls, any tile in the game.
In the game players can travel to solar systems, find planets to explore, asteroid fields to mine, nebulae to harvest gases from, visit other player’s starships, attack and board enemy starships, pillage derelict starships for parts and materials… and so much more…
Not yet… Still working on it. Think I jumped the gun with posting this here didn’t realize it was for showcased finals… Lol but I just launched an indiegogo campaign for it and just really want to know how people feel about it.
No I am not using any plugins for the GUI in StellarBrink. Just what comes with Unity3d. I would say one of my biggest strengths is GUI design, as I’ve been a graphic artist for 14 years.
I love this game and I’m really excited to answer questions about it.
About Greenlight, I am currently running a small Indiegogo Funding Campaign to show me how well it might be recieved. Once that ends I will consider Greenlight. I love Steam and love how it works. Just not sure that Steam would be a great platform for this… but who knows
Here is what I’m currently working on… the Replication Console Screen… it’s where you choose a blueprint and create items/tiles/weapons using materials from your Atomic Storage:
Just me. Been working on it Full-Time for 3 months now morning to night. I work pretty fast when focused on a project like this… that’s why I’m hoping that the Indiegogo campaign generates some funds so I can continue to work on it.
On the server side I use PlayerIO… you can find it here: PLAYERIO LINK
That’s actually quite amazing. As someone that started working on a persistent-type-world-but-less-MMO-ish, I was very worried that it would be out scope for a lone dev, this is actually very inspiring.
Actually, with using Unity3D and PlayerIO creating a MMO has been quite the pleasure. I am designing the networking aspects to be simple… and this allows me so much freedom while retaining all the fun aspects of the game.
Some more background info on me… Before I started working on StellarBrink I created a minecraft type engine in Unity3D called Cube World Generator. It has infinite worlds, inventory, placing and removing blocks, etc. It’s pretty cool.
