Stepping into game making

hello! I’m new to these forums.

ever since I’ve been introduced to V-Games I’ve always wanted a hand in designing them, and since I’ve more Artistic prowess than mathematical, I’ve decided on being a character/level designer.

I’m currently working on making my first game, It’s a small 2D platformer since I don’t want to bite off more than I can chew for the first game. Currently I’m working on a sample stage to see if the bare minimum of what I have in mind is enjoyable for a V-Game.

Coding is difficult, but I’m managing, I hope these forums will be a place I can always look to for advise.

Smart call on starting small… Many people get so excited to jump into their grand idea they quickly become overwhelmed and either give up, or ask for help every step of the way. Starting with a more manageable project will help you on your way to success!

This is a great place to come to for help. You’ll get a lot more out of it if you follow the rules and show that you’re really putting in the effort yourself first, but don’t let that stop you from asking when you’re really stuck.
