Stereo 3d monitors

I’ve been hunting through all the threads on stereoscopic display trying to find out if anyone has successfully hooked up unity to work with a 3d monitor. All the threads seem to either peter out or end up doing it with red green filters.
Has anyone got this working even offline with a true 3d monitor?
Are there monitors out there that can just take a stereo feed from one source which is interleaved or paged in some way that might be possible to script in unity, any ideas or thoughts on implementing this?

I don’t have much that will help you but I think implementing real 3D in video games is what we’ll be seeing in the future. Take a look at this link: http://local.wasp.uwa.edu.au/~pbourke/miscellaneous/stereographics/Unitystereo/

It shows how to create stereo pairs in Unity. If you could figure out a way to pass each camera view through a polarizing filter that would match each lens of say, a pair of real3D glasses (those polarized 3D glasses you get at the movies) you could build real 3D games right from Unity. And all I think you would need is a pair of polarized glasses and a monitor that is progressive scan. It’s just a theory I’m just a 3D artist but I’ve already been able to output anaglyph movies from Maya using the same principles.

If you figure out a way to do this please let me know. I’d jump into creating a FPS walk around environment even just to test it.

I would be mighty interested. I have several polarized monitors and a couple of 8-9 tile glasses-less ‘fresnel’ monitors.

It seems that both DX and GL have stereo support. There should be a way to tell ‘it’ to go into that mode. Should not have to do this in-game.

ANYONE?! Please!
